I found out that I was never checked for a non-ADHD developmental disorder as a kid. I once called up my doctor, asked if they had any records, and they said no. I ask them again this time, but they redirect me to the school board I was in who apparently did them.........but I was homeschooled the year they planned to do it!!! What a shocker!
So I've gone decades suspecting, but never really having it confirmed one way or another. Interesting! I'm contacting someone to try and find out an affordable way to get tested. If I do, in fact, have autism, it might even affect my bipolar diagnosis.
But for now, I do know I have ADHD, which is why I decided to look up some local resources. I learned today about a service my library provides access too: Dolphin EasyReader, which is an accessible app for people with print disabilities. Seems to let you read a book at the same time as listening to it, which honestly sounds like such a game changer, holy shit, I wish I knew about this before.
I also know that in the scenario that my ten year old computer finally explodes, I can ask for a laptop loaner which is super nice.
