Alright lets do this..
So I'm a queer individual with mental disorders. That is me to a core---my adhd, bipolar, and queerness all affect me majorly in some way, and while they've not all been positive ways, I've managed to look on the bright side of things.
Without these things affecting me, I don't think I'd be nearly able to be as empathetic or understanding towards people I now consider close friends. Without these, it's possible we may've never became friends in the first place, with me straying from past fandoms and onto greener, more vibrant pastures like most neurotypical people tend to do. I'm actually genuinely grateful that even though life is tough, I managed to make friends regardless because me and my friends like to ramble on about our interests that we've been glued to for years.
With that out of the way....I hate puzzles, but get thrilled when I find a solution. I suppose that's why I like researching things so much or even why I like art! With art, you have to look at all the pieces of the anatomical puzzle and figure out how they slot together, and I love that. I love finding out new things to incorporate into my art.
I'm trying to get into fanfiction writing. Even though I love art, I find it lacks a sort of....immediateness to it. I like creating artwork, but I like being able to describe things. Sadly, I'm not good at that. Which is why I want to learn how to write. I want to learn how to describe the emotions that I felt putting into art, in ways that other people can empathise with. Art can be easily misinterpreted, and I'd love to be able to just describe what a work is supposed to be.
My oldest fandom is Katekyo Hitman Reborn. I've been into it for...god, fourteen years now. I've made most of my friends and acquaintances through it. I remember being a lurker on livejournal experiencing the pure suffering that is not being able to access some scanlation group's doujinshis. I remember being on tumblr as the final arcs were finishing and ranting about the machine translations resulting in a single panel mistake where Fran's gender identity was in question.
However, I've also gone through A LOT of major fandoms. I'm surprisingly prone to dropping things after binge-reading them, though....most shonen manga are victims to this. One Piece, Naruto, Gintama....usually something happens, and I just. Don't finish it.
Currently, my main fandoms are: Katekyo Hitman Reborn, Hazbin Hotel, different magical girl series, Genshin Impact, Blue Period, Death Note, and Gatchaman Crowds.
I'm a multishipper, but more importantly, to my core, I'm a rare pair shipper. I love rare pairs. Please rant to me about your favorite rare pairs and I'll be thrilled. I may understand nothing, but I understand the feeling of liking a small pairing that no one else likes.

Date: 2024-01-11 08:29 am (UTC)I like how you've taken the aspects of your life that can cause difficulties and instead look at the positives! I think it's actually really healthy and almost satisfying this ability to become hyperfixated in things and then freely be able to move on. ❤️
I also liked hearing about your life as an artist, especially this: I like creating artwork, but I like being able to describe things... I'd love to be able to just describe what a work is supposed to be. because I've so many times wished I could gather at the feet of artists and listen to them describe every detail, but have it drilled in my head that you should never do that. That's probably why I love Bob Ross so much, he told you every single thought he had about his work AS HE CREATED IT! 😱😱
